Secret power of LFX Insights for Organizations: Media Metrics

Hello everyone,

LFX Insights’ secret power is that it delivers extensive performance metrics beyond code contributions for a holistic view of a project’s ecosystem by aggregating data from multiple data sources to create comprehensive dashboards that monitor the health of LF projects.

Not only does Insights provide visibility into technical project performance, but you can also leverage Insights to maximize your social influence aptitude with media metrics.

How do you know if you are maximizing your social influence aptitude?

Media Metrics

Earned Media is the publicity or exposure gained from methods other than paid advertising. If you are looking to grow and recruit new members or simply seeking to improve your promotional efforts, understanding your project’s earned media serves as a great resource.

The Earned Media dashboard in Insights captures the number of times unique users searched, mentioned, or shared project-related articles or blogs on different media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, blog sites, news publishing websites, etc.

Social Media Metrics

The Social Media Metrics dashboards provide insights from the project’s social media accounts and target search terms. You can view detailed Social Media metrics, including geographical data, sentiment analysis, SEO metrics, social media sharing/mentions, and publishers.

We currently collect data on five metrics for Twitter, including a high-level overview of the projects’ channel-level performance, hashtags summary, URL link summary, languages impressions, and contributors summary. By default, the Twitter Overview page is displayed when you navigate to the project’s social media metrics dashboards. The metrics are organized into the dashboard types and can be viewed by date ranges, such as 30 days, 90 days, six months, etc.

Here are a few additional social media metrics you may want to explore:

Top 10 Publishers-

Top ten media houses and blog sites that mention most about the project in articles and blog posts. It includes the number and percentage of mentions about your project.

Key Messages-
